ABOUT LIZ

Elizabeth Rose’s birth, by the light of a hurricane lamp on a dining room table in the Himalayan foothills, foretells an unusual life ahead. A Raj orphan shipped from India at age seven, she roamed the moors of an English children’s home, feral. Her imagination, shaped by solitude, developed unschooled and uncensored. It was an extraordinary beginning to a life marked by reinvention and resilience.

Over the years she would wear many hats: wife, mother, speech pathologist, sculptor, author, poet. In later life, as sole caregiver to her husband through his fifteen year struggle with Parkinson’s, Elizabeth entered a new and unexpected chapter, one that deepened her insight and sharpened her voice.

Bringing curiosity to whatever life demands of her, Elizabeth’s creative work continues to evolve, but it is her capacity for adaptation that most defines her path.
